Disable Cisco Security Agent temporally? i have CCAgent on my computer and ive been looking for a while and i cannot figure a way to disable it. OR find a way to stop this, it has lately on been giving me one choice to download things(were as normally it would give me 3, yes, no, no terminate), it will just say (NO, default) inside of the only button i can click. And when i am home it says ( no P2P programs on school grounds) when i try to open limewire or another P2P and im clearly not on school grounds.
Hi, I am trying to set up a cisco 2611 as an extra layer of security? I can ping both 2611 router ethernet interfaces from the PC. I can also ping both the inside and outside of the internet access router via the 2611 router but when I try to use a web brower I get the server not found message. I think it could be something to do with static route or default gateway config. Any pointers would be would get points.....Steve

How to configure Cisco ASA 5500 Security appliance to work with Apple iPhone 3g? Neither Cisco nor Apple have step-by-step configuration guides for Apple iPhone. The only thing Cisco says is that iPhone is compatible with Cisco ASA 5500 series and PIX firewalls. I have ASA 5500. It does not work out of the box. iPhone client connects via VPN properly, gets private IP address, but then does not go further than successful completion of phase 1.No internal resources are accessible. Exchange is not accessible (while I can use it via the same phone if I'm connected directly to the private network via wifi). Thanks! Oleg

I am having trouble loading the Cisco SDM software on the Cisco 851 router. Error listed below.? I do not want this particular IP to have Port 80 access because of internal security Policies where in there is limited access to Internet. I am able to access the FTP through my browser only if i open port 80 otherwise I am not. I am able to access FTP through the command port but not through my browser How can I put restrictions to the same.

Question for Cisco Professionals...is it safe to turn off CDP? I have a medium small sized network...about 12 nodes each with a router and switch or stack. Cisco CallManager is the main VOIP with several servers (publisher and subscribers). My question is more about network security, safety and Cisco CallManager...I'm not entirely up to speed on the interactions on the network with CallManager between the servers and the phones. I know that without a VOIP system in-place, it's advised to turn off CDP unless you really need it, for security reasons. If I turn off CDP, will it affect anything in the VOIP system?

What is the best router to use for LAN at home? I want to network two computers together. (See my other question "Sharing DSL service?") I want a good quality router that will perform well and give good security without paying an arm and leg. I found a Refurbished CISCO1604-R for $35.00. Is this a good price? WEP Setup for Windows ME [cisco]? I am trying to set up a wireless network with WEP security with a Windows ME laptop. The wireless card in use is a cisco aironet 340 series. I have the Aironet Client Utility and have created a profile with the WEP key in it, however I am getting nowhere. The laptop is able to get an IP from the network and the Aironet Utility says that we have associated with the Access Point, however I have no Internet access, and am unable to ping any computers. If i remove the WEP settings from the access point and the Aironet Utility everything works fine. Solved - Was the workgroup :S

cant get my linksys router to work? I recently had to install my factory defaults disk to rest my whole computer and wipe every thing clean but now I cannot get my xbox live to work because I cant stay connected to my router. I have a Linksys wireless-G broadband router model wrt54g. I have already tried installing the set up disk for the router but when ever I do it gets to a part where it is checking my system and when that’s done it asks for a pass word which I don’t have but there is one already typed in, o I press enter and it just keeps repeating the step where it is checking my system. I have also tried going to the 192.168.1.1 site access my router through that but it asks for a password and screen name, I type in the default one which is admin but it doesn’t work it just keeps asking for a password and screen name, also I leave the screen name blank so the only thing in it is that little head. Also I know its not my xbox falut because I pressed the cisco security button so I flashes then I type in the WAP security key and im connected but then it signs me out of xbox live and says im disconnected. I think everything would be fine if I could just instal the darn disk. O and my internet provider is roadrunner if that’s any help.

Accessing Resources on Home Network? I have a work laptop that connects to my wireless home network for its internet connection. Though I have admin rights to the work machine, Windows (all machines involved are XP) says I don't have sufficient rights to run the network setup wizard (says it needs to install some network files, Cisco Security Agent asks me if I'm willing to do it, then Windows says my user account can't). I was hoping to be able to connect the machine to my home network, so I can use my shared resources. Specifically, I'd like to be able to use my printer, hooked up to my home machine downstairs (and shared), via the work laptop upstairs. Any help? If it takes some hardware reconfiguration to make it a network resource rather than a shared resource, I'm willing to do that, if you could talk me through it. I don't want to have to have a physical connection to the laptop. Thanks.
Internet connection through lan not working on Vista? I go to a University and everything worked when I got back from break, but in my dorm my lan connection to the network does not work. All wireless works tho. The university uses cisco clean access agent, to make sure you have the proper stuff on ur comp when you connect. do you think it does not work because of the heightened security on vista? or that the cisco program is not yet compatible with vista? (keep in mind it comes out for retail on january 30th) or do I need to install specific protocols that do not come preinstalled? or is there someway I have to set up a lan network, that is not normal on xp? No IPs are required, they are automatically obtained. When I plug my lan in it says local only and identifying. Sometimes after a while the little globe appears at the bottom, meaning that there is access to the internet. So normally when I used to plug my lan in with xp the thing would connect. The cisco clean access agent has to be running on the comp (it normally turns on at startup) and it verifies that I have a virus protection program and allows me to acces the network and internet. But now it does not seem to do this. But only through lan. Wireless works fine, although sometimes it does weird stuff, but I am guessing its because I sit in the far corner of a lecture hall and the signal is lost. 11 minutes ago ethernet cable is not a problem, it works with my roomates windows xp comp. socket is also fine 10 minutes ago I don't see a way to set lan connections to auto. It automatically connects when plugged in. 9 minutes ago I have windows vista ultimate from msdn subscription
Cisco Routing and Switches? I'm running a CiscoASA 5510 router with several Cisco WS-C2960-48TT-L switches on a local network. I need to be able to restrict access to specific users via their computer MAC address. ie: Joe Blow is limited to connecting through Switch 1 on port 10 and anywhere else he tries to plug in will simply not work. Now I know I can limit who can access which ports individually with port-security however that is the wrong approach in this case, I only want to confine specific users to specific access routes. This seems something that is very plausable, but I can't seem to figure out how. I have full access to the router and switches via console and the cisco network assistant tool but nothing stands out as what I am looking for. Thanks in advance for your insight!

Information Systems Security (AAS) + Certs. Little help for begginer pls? Im looking at changing into the network security field. My local city college (Sacramento city college) offers an AAS in Information Systems Security. The link to this can be found here if you want to see the courses. http://www.scc.losrios.edu/x12979.xml#Information%20Systems%20Security Im not super knowledgable in everything certain certs take yet, but my understanding from this course description is that is prepares you to able to obtain the Comptia Security+ (which i assume also means i should be capable of getting network+ and A+ if i can pass the security+?), Microsoft MCSE (theres three seperate classes all described to be dedicated to this), and then "several of the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification exams" (which of course i can't obtain yet as they have work experience requirements, but assuming this course outline prepares me enough i might be able to get a Associate of (ISC)²). The college also offers the cisco CCNA which seems to be a prudent credential to aquire? Theres 4 seperate courses all dedicated specifically to this, but it does not fall under the Information Systems Security degree. It would just be an addition. Would a line up such as this to adequate to land me a novice out of school job in the field? What would be the better way to go, getting the information systems securty degree +certs, getting just the degree, or getting just the certs? I dont really know if stacking those particular certs is needed if you can already show you have the degree? Also, with the degree should i definetely go out of my way to aquire the CCNA? It seems to me through my limited research that that is rather the cornerstone basic benchmark all employers look at? What i was getting at with that question more or less was does having the ability to pass security+ mean that you basically have the skills to pull of both Network+ and A+. I think I want to do something with Cisco...ccna...ccnp.help? I am 23 yrs old. Most of my life has been filled with music.I used to do web design/animation freelance...learned on own. Yet I do somewhat of troubleshooting/NHD.....I guess I feel VEry interested in this field of IT. I Dj, so reacting at the spur of the moment is kinda what I enjoy. I love using my brain and figuring out what a problem. I feel like I am actually worth something at my job lol....Anywho, I am not really in it for the money though I do however am interested in how much they make....Also, I am not sure about how to go about this. Should I get a degree in Computer science? Information tech....then get the CCNA? or shouldI get the CCNA and jump in. I need help with Cisco exam answers. Desperately :(? I am doing A+ Certification Cisco exams. Was breezing along fine and due to a classroom disruption (change of timetable over and over) I'm caught behind. Today I did an exam, twice. CHEATED both times. AND STILL FAILED!!! Please help me. Where can I find answers to these exams? Or if you could please contact me to help me out, that would be great. Chapters 13, 15 and 16 are where I struggle at the moment. Espcially 16 "Advanced internet security"
Which IT Certification blends well with a Training & Development resume? I want to add an IT certification to my resume. However, I don't want to slave over material that won't help me in my work or in the job market. I don't want to get a meaningless certification (like the new online college degrees) or train in something that is obsolete. I have the MSOffice, PowerPoint, Project and Access training. I am starting SixSigma and PeopleSoft/SAP HR training, but want to set myself apart as decidedly technical in order to get an edge. (I actually am technical, and love conducting or writing training on tech topics). Not sure which cert will capture an employer's attention: CompTIA has a host of certs, MS/Cisco/Oracle have certs...then, there is Data Security and some others I see that I worry that I should be considering. What is getting hotter and would need to be trained to many employees so I can learn it and get contract work training others?

Which Cisco Certification path should I take? Should I take the path for "Routing and Switching" (CCNA,CCNP,CCIE Routing & Switching), "Network Security" (CCNA,CCSP,CCIE Security), "Storage Networking" (CCNA,CCIE Storage Networking) or "Service Provider" (CCNA,CCIP,CCIE Service Provider). I already work for a large telco, so I was thinking the service provider track, but the other three interest me more. I also want to go where the most money and demand is, I hear storage networking is a growing field. Also, i realize that the CCIE is ridiculously difficult to achieve, but I'm confident I'll be able to eventually pass it, so no need to tell me how difficult the CCIE is :)
what is the best thing to do next?? I have finished my Cisco CCNA and want to get into the security side of things with a view to being a security consultant.. which do you think would be best to do next - CompTIA Security + or the Cisco CCSP??? Or any other suggestions : )

What are the security systems Singapore banks(e.g. OCBC, POSB, OUB) use? Do they use systems from Cisco, Chubb, ADT? Do they use fingerprint systems for data collection and identification of their customers?
What salary could I make with my certs? I have worked in the help desk the last 5 years. I currently worked up to junior systems engineer. I hold the following certifications... CCNP (Cisco Network Pro) CCSP (Cisco Security Pro) CCVP (Cisco Voice Pro) VCP (Vmware Certified Professional) MCITP Vista 70-620/70-622 LPI level 2 (Linux pro instutude level 2) In the middle of studying for MCITP for Server 2008 and should be done in 6 months or so. Do you think making 80000/year is reasonable?

I I need to control who can plug in to my ports on my 2950s. I dont want to use Stickyports. Any suggestions I am using Cisco 2950's as a distribution layer for my switches. I aleady know about know about switchport port-security stickyport and 802.1x.... does any one out there have any suggestion as far as controlling access to my network by other means? I currently have about 35 Vlans spanning across a network of 300 or so machines. I have been asked to require some sort of port based access control in several rooms. Help me out here. I have an Idea about what I want to do, but I want some outside suggestions. Is NAC in end of sale? No other suggestions?

How do I get an invite to bitme.org or bitspyder.net? I tried the bitme.org irc server but all the channels said no invite requests.. so i didnt go into any of the channels. I am not sure where the bitspyder.net irc server is located, if anyone has that info, it would be helpful.
