What is the best tip for a SAP Fresher to get a job ?

The SAP market is a tough market for consultants : You need at least 3 years of relevant SAP experience to get any project. A SAP fresher (no experience) will not find a job because he is a fresher. So what tip can you give him to find a job ? Maybe to join a community like SAP SDN ?

  1. I hav been in the BPCS community for approx 20 years, before that I was in the MAPICS community for approx 10 years. Both are smaller than the SAP community but there's stuff all the ERP communities have in common. 1. Each ERP community has a wealth of user group activities ... discussion groups, meetings, conventions, education ... you need to get active in whatever is out there, identity the thousands, or tens of thousands of companies using as their ERP the one you are familiar with. There are newsletters of sorts ... subscribe to them, contribute, participate, get noticed. 2. Whatever platform the ERP runs on, the Operating System, the brand name of computer ... same deal ... there's special interest groups for that ERP, for ERP in general ... get involved, find out about the thousands of companies ... in the future some of them will be where you will work, may work. 3. ERP itself, and the various application areas, also have SIG ... there's some engineers who promote the theory of PDM, that each ERP claims to have adopted ... there's APICS which invented ERP 60 years ago & has vastly improved the theory since then ... there's all kinds of new vistas for ERPs that did not come from the ERP companies, but from some special interest group that has a big following. At least touch base, so you can see where ERP may be headed in the next 10 years of evolution. 4. Then you might want to specialize There's various application areas that if anyone is experienced, they are only a few years ahead of you because, those areas only began to get implemented a few years ago, like Supply Chain. Computer Security is getting very Hot. As an application it has been around for decades, but it has not had a lot of interest until many companies in public hot water for breaches which are no longer practical to keep hush hush.
